ZVM Unani Medical College & Hospital

The Maharashtra Medical Education & Research Center, Pune has established the Z. V. M. Unani Medical College & Hospital, in 1984 to provide professional education to the minority community & thus improve the quality of education. The Z.V.M. Unani Medical College & Hospital, Pune is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, and affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (Nashik) and to University of Pune.

It is an aided College with an intake capacity of 60 students. The College also conducts post graduate courses in four subjects i.e. Moalejat (General Medicine) and Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine) with intake capacity of 6 seats in each subject and in Ilmul Qabalat wa Amraz-e- Niswa (Gynaecology) and Ilmul Jarahat (surgery) with intake capacity of 2 seats and 3 seats in each subject respectively. The College is situated in the heart of Pune Cantonment area in the eastern part of the city. It is connected to the M.G.Road at one end and Shankershet Road at the other. The College is just 3 Kms away from the Pune railway station, 1 Km away from Swargate Bus Station and is at walking distance from the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stand, a central bus terminus of Pune Camp area for Pune Municipal Transport. It is also connected by rail & air to almost all the important cities of India. 

About Hospital

The hospital was established in 1984 to offer medical facilities and to ensure timely and prompt care to needy patients in and around Pune at affordable cost.

• The hospital is spread over three buildings and houses the main medical, surgical and gynaecology department and various other allied facilities.
• There is an indoor capacity of 150 beds with separate male, female and semiprivate and private rooms. It is professionally managed and run by well qualified ,experienced and efficient doctors and nurses.
• The Hospital has well equipped Operation theatres. Pathology laboratory and radiology department with modern X-Ray machines, U.S.G and 2-D Echo facilities supervised by qualified doctors and senior technicians.
• New and latest equipment's are also being added from time to time.
• The experienced and well qualified hakims runs the Unani OPD.
• Multidisciplinary OPD With consultants of all specialties i.e., medicine, surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology caters to the needs of patients.
• Super specialists in cardiology, Urology and Gastroenterology are also available on call.
