Counselling and admission procedure: Online counselling for 85% State Quota seats of Rajiv Gandhi Government Post-Graduate Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Paprola, District Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), will be conducted by the Atal Medical & Research University through a centralized counselling process. The counselling for the remaining 15% Central/All India Quota seats of this Government college will be carried out by the authority designated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. However, all State and All India Quota seats in private Ayurvedic colleges will be filled strictly on the basis of merit through online centralized counselling conducted by the University, under the supervision of the Centralized Counselling Committee constituted by the Director, AYUSH, Himachal Pradesh.
1st Round: Online counselling will be conducted for provisional seat allocation against available seats strictly on the basis of merit-cum-choices and preferences of course, college, and quota filled by candidates within the stipulated period through the University website www.amruhp.ac.in. Admissions to Government Ayurvedic College and private Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy colleges under State and All India Quota seats will be completed through online allotment as per the prescribed schedule by the Centralized Counselling Committee constituted by the Director, AYUSH, Himachal Pradesh, with Principals of all concerned colleges, along with the University and a nominee of the Director, AYUSH, serving as members of the admission committee. After provisional seat allocation in the first and subsequent counselling rounds, candidates must download the provisional admission letter from the University website and report to the concerned college with all original documents, a printout of the confirmation copy of the online application form, and self-attested photocopies of requisite certificates for verification as per the prospectus. Upon successful verification of documents, fulfillment of eligibility criteria, medical fitness, and fee payment, candidates must complete joining at the provisionally allotted college within the stipulated time, failing which the allotted seat will be automatically cancelled without notice, declared vacant for the next counselling round, and penalties, if applicable, will be imposed in accordance with the provisions of the prospectus.
2nd Round: After completion of the first round of counselling, the University will conduct the second round as per the notified schedule, with the online counselling form made available on the University website www.amruhp.ac.in. Candidates must log in using their username and password to submit fresh choices and preferences of courses, colleges, and quotas within the stipulated period for provisional allotment against vacant seats. All candidates included in the AMRU merit list are eligible to participate in the second round; however, those satisfied with their allotment from the first round are not required to take part further. Upgradation or shifting of seats between colleges and courses will be permitted during the second round, and allotment will be carried out category-wise in accordance with AYUSH guidelines. Candidates who are allotted BAMS or BHMS seats afresh in Government or private Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy colleges during the second or subsequent rounds are required to pay a security token amount of ₹25,000 at the time of choice filling, failing which no seat will be allotted; this requirement does not apply to candidates already admitted in the first round. If a candidate fails to join the allotted college within the prescribed time, the token amount will be forfeited, while candidates who are not allotted any seat in any counselling round will receive a full refund after completion of the admission process. For admitted candidates, the token amount will be transferred to the concerned college upon receipt of the admission list from the Principal. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed only to the bank account from which the token amount was paid, and candidates must therefore ensure payment from their own or their parents’ account and provide accurate account details; in case of refund failure, AMRU may require candidates to submit an online claim form through their login portal to facilitate processing.
3rd Round: After the completion of the second round of counselling, the University will conduct the third round as per the prescribed schedule, with the online counselling form available on the University website www.amruhp.ac.in. Candidates already registered are not required to submit the form again, but all participants must enter fresh choices and preferences of courses, colleges, and quotas within the stipulated period for provisional allocation against vacant seats. All candidates listed in the AMRU merit list are eligible to submit preferences for the third round, while those satisfied with their seat from the first or second round are not required to participate. Upgradation or shifting between Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy colleges and courses will also be facilitated during this round. Candidates opting to participate in the third round must pay the security token amount as applicable in the second round, failing which no seat will be allotted; candidates already admitted in the first or second rounds are exempt from paying the token amount. During this round, candidates may select colleges or courses that may not currently show vacancies, as seats may become available due to shifts by other candidates. Seat allocation will be carried out based on merit-cum-choice preferences and availability. Admitted candidates from the second round who do not receive upgradation will retain their previously allotted seat and category. Vacant seats from the second round will be displayed for the third round, with category-wise allocation conducted first, and any remaining unfilled reserved seats converted to unreserved and filled based on open merit. Once a seat is converted to unreserved in the third round, it will continue to be allotted on an open merit basis in all subsequent rounds.
Stray Vacancy Round: After completion of the first, second, and third rounds of counselling, the University will announce the schedule for the Stray Vacancy Round, with the online counselling form made available on www.amruhp.ac.in. Candidates not admitted to Government Ayurvedic Colleges and eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round may participate, while those not registered in earlier rounds may submit fresh applications. All fresh candidates and those already admitted in private Ayurvedic or Homoeopathy colleges must enter updated choices and preferences of courses, colleges, and quotas within the stipulated period for provisional allocation against vacant seats, along with the requisite token amount as applicable. Candidates already admitted to Government Ayurvedic Colleges are not eligible to participate in this round. No inter-se shifting between private colleges will be allowed; however, shifting from private colleges to Government Ayurvedic Colleges will be permitted based on merit-cum-choice preferences. In private colleges, shifting from All India Quota to Himachal Pradesh Quota for eligible candidates will be allowed based on merit. Vacant seats from the third round will be displayed for the Stray Vacancy Round and filled category-wise, with remaining reserved seats converted to unreserved as per counselling procedures similar to the third round. Candidates may fill choices for colleges, courses, or quotas not currently showing vacancies, as seats may become available due to shifting or conversion from previous rounds. Some seats reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) may remain unfilled, and vacancies in any category or quota may arise due to shifting or conversion, making it unnecessary for candidates to restrict their choices only to currently available seats.
Merit list: Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU) will prepare and publish combined as well as category-wise merit lists based on the All India Merit Rank of NEET-UG 2025 for candidates who have successfully submitted their online application in all respects, paid the prescribed fee, and obtained the confirmation copy within the stipulated time mentioned in the prospectus. A fresh AMRU merit rank will be assigned to eligible candidates and notified on the University website (www.amruhp.ac.in) for admission to BAMS and BHMS courses in Government and private unaided Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy colleges, covering State Quota seats and All India Quota seats in private institutions. Admissions will be strictly based on NEET-UG 2025 merit, subject to eligibility conditions, with minimum qualifying criteria as prescribed by NTA/NCISM, i.e., 50th percentile for General and other categories, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates, and in the case of candidates with benchmark disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, 45th percentile for General category and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC categories. Candidates will be considered in order of merit for State and All India Quota seats, and those not eligible for State Quota will be considered only for All India Quota seats in private colleges, if opted. In the event that State Quota seats in private colleges remain vacant after exhaustion of the merit list, Himachali bonafide candidates admitted under All India Quota may be converted to State Quota seats to fill such vacancies in the same college during the Stray Round, provided the candidate has exercised State Quota choices, and such candidates shall be charged fees applicable to State Quota seats.
Note: Candidates who fail to apply for online counselling within the stipulated period through the Atal Medical & Research University website will not be considered for admission under any circumstances, even if they have qualified NEET-UG 2025. Mere inclusion of a candidate’s name in the merit list does not confer any right to admission to BAMS or BHMS courses. Admission to Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy colleges is strictly subject to fulfillment of the eligibility conditions prescribed in the prospectus, availability of seats, and the grant of requisite permission for the academic session 2025–26 by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
