Jagadguru Panchacharya Education Society’s Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, is located in the heart of Kolhapur City a district place in the state of Maharashtra of Indian nation. The college conducts the BHMS Degree course in Homoeopathic system of Medicine recommended by the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH), New Delhi and approved by the Dept. of Ayush, Ministry of Healthy and Family Welfare, Government of India with effect from Academic year, 1984-85. And also Since Academic Year 2011-12 this college has started Post Graduate courses in Practice of Medicine and Paediatrics as MD (Hom).

This College was started by Panchaganga Education Charitable Trust, Kolhapur and was inaugurated by Honorable Shri. Bhai Sawant, the then Health Minister of Maharashtra state on the 31st of August 1984 at Shahu Smarak Bhawan, Kolhapur. Later from the academic year 2000-01 the college was transferred to Jagadguru Panchacharaya Education Society , Kolhapur. The college has been recognized by the Government of Maharashtra for conducting the degree course in Homoeopathy from the academic year 1984-85 and was affiliated previously to the Shivaji University, Kolhapur. And from the academic year 1998-99 the college has been affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health of sciences, Nashik.

The college has been also recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, Ministry of Health and family welfare, Government of India, to make admissions of 50 students in the college from the academic year 1984-1985 onwards. Eventually the intake capacity of admissions in the college has been increased from 50 to 75 students per year as on today. In future the intake capacity will be increased up to 100 for BHMS degree course.

As on today 1750 students have been admitted in the college for 5 ½ year BHMS course and out of them 1400 students have successfully completed their BHMS course. The average percentage of BHMS passing in the college is above 80% and the results are better in every University examination session. The students presently studying in the college are from various cities located in the state of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, U.P, M.P etc. The students from the college come in the university merit regularly. The intake capacity for MD (Hom) courses is 3 students per subject per year at present which will be increased up to maximum in near future. In addition to this, a PHD recognized centre has been started from the academic year 2017-2018, to complete full curriculum in Homoeopathy.

About Hospital

This college has its own 40 bedded hospital in Rukmini Nagar, Kolhapur. In addition to this 250 bedded Hospitals of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation along with 50 + 50 bedded super specialty Hospitals are also attached to this college for Post Graduation education for Medicine & Paediatrics. The college has enriched library with 8300 textbooks and reference books on various subjects. The library is well equipped with various national and international journals and magazines along with additional facilities such as digital library, internet connectivity, photocopiers, etc.

This college has a highly qualified teaching faculty. This college is also doing excellent in university level sports, extracurricular and co-curricular activities as well.
