NORTH EASTERN INSTITUTE OF AYURVEDA & HOMOEOPATHY (NEIAH)

North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH) is an Autonomous Institute under Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India located at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, Meghalaya commences its academic programme in 2016-17. The institute was established by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India with the aim of imparting Graduate, Post-graduate, Doctoral and Research Programme in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy and also to provide quality medical facilities and act as referral hospitals. At present, the Institute is running one College of Ayurveda & one College of Homoeopathy offering undergraduate courses in BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery).The Institute is going to admit 63 candidates each for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) courses for the academic session 2020-21. Out of 63 seats, 31 seats will be for All India Quota, 31 seats will be for Northeast States Quota and 1 seat is for Foreign National. All India Quota seats will be directly filled up by Ministry of AYUSH via centralized counseling, to be notified by the Ministry through its website. Foreign National seats will be filled up through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Course Duration:

5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year)

Seat Distribution:

-15% AIQ (All India Quota)

AACCC will be doing Counselling for minimum 15% AIQ seats for Government, Government aided, Central Universities, National Institutes, Private colleges and 100% seats for Deemed Universities.

- 85% Government Quota

85% seat filled through government counselling conducted by Government of Madhya Pradesh (Department of Ayush).

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nationality: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

2. The applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years. (Not applicable for foreign students)

3. He/She has completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year BAMS/BHMS course and maximum age limit will be 25 years as on 31st December of the year of his/her admission. SC/ST candidates will get relaxation of age as per GOI Rules.

4. The applicant should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below: a. Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the subject comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology). b. The applicant must have passed in the Subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% for General candidates and 45% for ST/SC category candidates. c. For foreign nationals, ICCR will be requested to forward the applications to NEIAH for admission under the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme. NEIAH will examine the applications in terms of admission into the course.
