The Mohsine Millat Unani Tibb Education Society’s Unani Medical College, established in 2005, stands as the only institution of its kind in the region, specializing in Unani medicine. While Unani is an integral part of India’s diverse medical systems, there are other medical colleges in Raipur and other cities in the state that focus on allopathy, dentistry, pharmacy, Ayurveda, and homeopathy. The Mohsine Millat Unani Tibb Education Society was founded to advance and expand the reach of Unani medical education and integrate it with other widely practiced healthcare systems. The college is complemented by an adjacent hospital that provides treatment for a wide range of chronic conditions, such as gout, asthma, epilepsy, jaundice, hypertension, heart disorders, chronic hepatitis, cholecystitis, paralysis, leucoderma, leprosy, anemia, appetite loss, weakness, and weight loss. Additionally, the hospital specializes in the treatment of sexual disorders, infertility, serious diseases, and cancer in both men and women. These services are provided by highly skilled doctors from both the college and the local medical community. The MMUMC is recognized by the Central Council of Unani Medicine & Research. The college’s infrastructure includes an auditorium, conference hall, computer lab, and specialized medical labs, providing students and faculty with a comprehensive environment for both academic and practical learning.
