The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa, has prepared this prospectus to provide comprehensive information regarding admissions to the First Year of Professional Degree courses in the State of Goa. This prospectus outlines the Common Entrance Test and the admission procedures applicable to Government, Government-aided, and unaided colleges offering Bachelor’s degree programmes in Architecture, Dentistry, Engineering, Medicine (Allopathy, Homoeopathy, and Ayurveda), Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, and Naturopathy and Yogic Science. In addition, the Directorate of Technical Education is authorised to conduct and process admissions for certain categories of seats, for which separate prospectuses are issued.

Eligibility: The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination, with English as a compulsory subject, and must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination of the Goa Board, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, or any other examination that is considered equivalent in scope and standard to the H.S.S.C. examination of the Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the prescribed subjects as specified for admission to the respective professional courses.
NATIONALITY: Admission to professional courses in State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category.
AGE: An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Science, B.V.Sc.&A.H., Nursing and BNYS must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year. No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy Courses.
QUALIFYING EXAMINATION & MINIMUM MARKS: The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, or any other examination deemed equivalent in scope and standard to the H.S.S.C. examination of the Goa Board, with English as a compulsory subject. The applicant must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together; however, the minimum required aggregate shall be 40% for applicants belonging to the SC, ST, and OBC categories, and 45% for applicants belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, specifically for admission to the MBBS and BDS courses.

CERTIFICATES AND TESTIMONIALS: Self-attested photocopies of relevant certificates and testimonials should be attached to the Application Form and the same shall be tick marked in the checklist, on the form.

The Service Certificate should indicate the full name of the parent, designation, date of transfer order, date of joining and present status of posting. | 11. | Applicants claiming seats under the Children of Persons residing in Goa [7c] must produce a residence certificate from Mamlatdar, in respect of his/her parent’s residence in Goa, preceding the date of submission of application for admission, and applicant having passed qualifying exam from schools in Goa. Applicants claiming seats under Category [7d] must produce certificate from their employer, in respect of his/her parents having retired from their service, when posted in the State of Goa, and that their wards continued to study in the schools in State of Goa, and passed the qualifying exam from schools in Goa. |

OTHER INSTRUCTIONS: The application forms, original documents, and bank receipts of fees paid shall remain in the custody of the Admission Committee through the representatives of the respective institutions until the completion of the second or any subsequent round of admissions, if conducted. The bank receipts shall not be encashed during this period to facilitate on-the-spot refund of fees in cases of vertical mobility. The Heads of the respective institutions shall be solely responsible for the refund of fees, and fee receipts shall be issued by the concerned institutions, if required. The Admission Committee nominees from each institution shall be responsible for reporting all vacancies, cancellations, and fee payment details of admitted candidates to their respective institutions. After the completion of the second or subsequent admission rounds, any refund of fees shall be processed by the Principal of the institution, who shall ensure that the refund is made within 15 days from the date of cancellation upon receipt of a valid refund request. The Admission Committee shall be responsible for transferring application forms and original documents of applicants between institutions in cases of vertical mobility during the admission process. All hostel-related fees and deposits shall be paid to and refunded by the Heads of the respective institutions only, and no correspondence in this regard shall be made with the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). In the event of any legal dispute concerning fee refunds, neither the Directorate of Technical Education nor the Admission Committee shall be a party to the dispute, except for providing clarification of the applicable rules.
GUIDELINES FOR MERIT LIST: Eligibility for admission and preparation of the merit list for these courses shall be based on the applicant’s performance in the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) UG-2025 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), using the NEET UG-2025 All India Rank, percentile, or score card, as applicable. For these courses, the eligibility conditions and merit list criteria prescribed by the respective regulatory authorities shall be strictly followed.
